“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” When students are struggling to understand a math concept, teaching the concept over and over isn’t going to work. Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) is a three-step approach to teaching math that can help all students, but especially those that have “holes” in their math understanding. In this session, you will learn the CRA basics and how to apply it in your classroom. The session is designed for K-6 teachers, but is applicable for middle and high school math teachers who work with struggling students.
